How much does it cost to homeschool?

Homeschool is not going to cost you an arm and leg. There are many homeschool groups available that have done a lot of the research for free to little cost materials.

Do homeschoolers test better than public school students?

Did you know that public schools spend 2 1/2 hours of transition between subjects. In this time you can complete all core subjects. This leaves you with 5 1/2 hours of learning. So, the answer to this question is a definite yes.

What are the benefits of homeschooling?

Homeschooling provides a child with individualized education for his or her own needs. Homeschooling isn't a one size fits all education.

Why homeschooling?

Homeschool provides the best education for your child. You also have 100% control of what your child is learning.

Is homeschool for religious families only?

Many are, but there are some who don't homeschool because of religious reasons. Today, many have chosen to homeschool because of the recent budget cuts in the public school system. Others homeschool because they have a child with special needs that can't be met in a public school environment. For the most part, homeschool parents have made this commitment because they too were homeschooled.

Which is cheaper, homeschool or public school?

It all depends on what homeschool method you use. If you purchase your curriculum, it can be very expensive. If you chose the free to little cost, then you will save a bundle. Whereas, public school, supplies can be expensive, but no where close to the cost of curriculum.

Do homeschool children take standardized tests?

Do homeschool children need to take the SAT's or ACT's?

If you child is planning on going to college, I would recommend your child taking the SAT's or ACT's. Check with you local community college if you have one.

Do I recommend homeschooling?

I personally do because this is truly the best education for your child.

Am I qualified to homeschool my child?

This also depends on the state you live in as well. To see if your state requires you to be certified or have a certain amount of college education.

Is a computer necessary to homeschool?

You don't need a computer to homeschool, but I strongly recommend it because there's so much available on the internet.

What kind of schedule is required to homeschool?

Also based on state requirements, but for the most part, I don't see this being a problem because this too is based on your family needs. Often times, parents still try to maintain a full-time job and homeschool full-time on the weekends.

Yes, the requirements are also based on your homeschool laws.

What resources are available for my special needs child?

There are a lot of resources available, as well as support groups. I too have special needs children and have found many online resources to use in our homeschooling.
