Chicken Farm Field Trip

A few weeks ago we had mentioned that we moved to the country. Well, I got in touch with a neighbor to see if we could come and learn about their chickens. To my surprise they said yes and I was so excited they had said yes. However, we weren't allowed to take any pictures.

This was still fine because had the chance to be up close to some live chickens. It was so funny to watch a few city kids chasing down chicken and seeing those chickens run was just as funny. My younger children were determined to catch a chicken, but after 1 hour, they gave up.

I was going to do a lapbook, but I thought being so close to chickens, it would be a great hands on experience for my children. However, some may not have this access to chickens. So, I did some research to find a great lapbook for those without this access.

Homeschool Share has a great lapbook that many homeschoolers have used, such as Delightful Learning. I like how they did this with a few fun hands on experiments. To see how they did theirs click here.
